The island of Ibiza is located in a privileged location in the Balearic sea, belonging to the Mediterranean Sea. The island is famous for its coves and beaches as well as its summer feel, celebs and clubs.

At Vibra Hotels, we’ve decided to create a guide to Ibiza’s coves, the ones you just have to visit if you want to enjoy your time in Ibiza and discover spots where time stands still.

Plus, we assure you that Ibiza won’t fail to impress you. Whether it’s crystal clear waters, fine sand or rocky coves where you can enjoy some time in pure harmony with nature. Plus, it also has a significant number of beaches where you can enjoy yourself and have the holiday of your dreams!

We’ve listed below some of the most attractive coves on the island, but there are also many more, depending on the tastes and preferences of each swimmer: nudist beaches, places where you can practice nautical sports, spy on famous people, or secluded ones, etc. Identify your style and prepare yourself for a sunny, relaxing day in top surroundings.

Beaches and secluded coves in Ibiza

I’m sure you’ll find it slightly strange that we’re talking about secluded coves in Ibiza, but they actually do exist. In Ibiza you can enjoy that bit of disconnection you’re craving, just a few kilometres from the hustle and bustle, although you’ll need to combat the heat and, evidently, you won’t be able to find a car parking space at the entrance to any of the beaches.  You’ll find our five most remote beaches below.

  1. Cala Llentisca (Es Cubells).

A tiny rocky unspoiled cove, one of the quietest and most secluded in the area, recommended for sunbathers who wish to enjoy water sports like snorkeling.

  1. Cala Olivera (Santa Eulària des Riu).

A small, unspoiled cove, surrounded by woods and crystal clear, emerald-coloured waters, where there are usually very few people. It’s an exclusive place and to get to it you have to cross a security checkpoint in a housing estate, which is why plenty of people think that access is forbidden.

From the cove you can see two islet that give it a real the scenery enhanced peace and beauty. It has two areas: one in the sand with hammocks; and another in the rocky area.

  1. Atlantis (Pedrera de Cala d’Hort).

You’ll need to be in good shape to get to this paradisaical beach. It has an old quarry that belongs to the Cala d’Hort nature reserve. Plus, there are several natural pools in the area, too.

  1. S’ Estanyol (Santa Eulària des Riu).

One of those coves that you can find really close to Ibiza town (just 4 km away), although the access road slows many down and prevents it from becoming overcrowded. Despite that, it has a chill out beach bar where you can recharge your batteries.

  1. Es Pujolets (Sant Josep de Sa Talaia).

It has two small coves (one that is difficult to access on foot and has boat houses) and they can be seen from Cala Tarida. It’s noteworthy because of its seaside feel, crystal clear waters and sandy bottoms.

Coves and beaches in Ibiza

This beach is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park, natural salt marshes that date back to the period of the Phoenicians, around 600 BC.

You will different beach bars where, if you look closely, you’ll see celebrities hanging out in their hammocks or in a moored boat nearby.  In front of one of its bars (Sa Trinxa), there are usually sunbathers wish to practice nudism.

  1. Cala Tarida (Cala Tarida).

It is a popular beach for families, with fine white sand, and the sea is full of bright colours, turquoise blue and emerald green. With easy access by car, this spot is ideal for families.

  1. Cala Bassa (Sant Antoni de Portmany).

It is one of the coves that is most frequented by tourists and famous islanders. In addition, it is also a meeting point for celebrities during the summer months. Its fine sand and calm turquoise waters will leave an impression on you.

  1. Playa de Figueretas (Ibiza).

Not far from the previous beach, we come across Figueretas, which is the only beach in the urban hub of Ibiza town and it’s one of the beaches tourists most often visit. Plus, you can go for long walks along its promenade. During the summer, the area usually livens up with a night market along with its terraces and restaurants.

Nudist coves

  1. Aigües Blanques (Santa Eulària des Riu).

  1. Punta Galera (Sant Antoni de Portmany).

It has one of the most amazing landscapes on the coast of Ibiza, with smooth rocks on the terraces where swimmers lay out their towels. It has become a nudist spot because it has always been a rarely frequented spot. It is worth visiting it for its atmosphere, as silence is respected and you can also find sunbathers doing yoga.

Plus, there are plenty of paths worth checking out on the rocky side. When the south wind blows, it is one of the most popular beaches among windsurfers.
