The countdown begins for your long-awaited Easter holidays or that weekend soaking up the sun on the islands… warm weather, soft golden sands, and unforgettable coves with crystal-clear waters…

In this blog, we’re going to talk about the top 5 beaches and coves in Mallorca that you simply can’t miss!

Even though Mallorca boasts more than 300 beaches and coves, we’ve handpicked these 5 that we’ll describe below, knowing they’ll make you savor every ray of sunshine and feel endless happiness.

When you arrive in Mallorca, it’s best to choose a well-connected hotel with a beautiful beach and excellent value for money – and we have just the one for you! We recommend the Vibra Beverly Playa hotel. Situated on the stunning Paguera beach, just 20 minutes from Palma, all its rooms offer sea views and it boasts two excellent pools right on the beachfront. Additionally, it features a spa with an indoor pool, and its rooms have been recently refurbished. You can enjoy breakfast under the pines overlooking the beach, and it’s very close to the first cove on our list, Cala Fornells.

Views from the Vibra Beverly Playa hotel

1. Cala Fornells (Paguera)

This cove is located very close to Andratx, and we highly recommend visiting it from the sea, by boat, because from the bay itself, you’ll see the beaches of Paguera, Santa Ponsa, and Illa es Malgrat. The beach is surrounded by pine trees, and its waters are turquoise in color. It’s a peaceful beach where you can access a lively promenade, an area with plenty of restaurants and small shops. Very close by, just two hundred meters away, you’ll find Caló de ses Llises, another must-visit spot.

  • Cala del Mag (Portals Vells)
  • Located between Mallorca and the beach of Paguera we just introduced. It’s in the well-known area of Portals Vells and Portal Nous, with excellent restaurants and shops to visit, but, of course, after enjoying a fantastic swim in Cala del Mag. This cove is known for its rock cliffs that protect it from the wind and wonderful vegetation that transports you to a world of tranquility. If you enjoy snorkeling, here you’ll see lots of colorful fish and coral reefs!

    1. Cala S’Amarador (Cap d’Es Moro, Santanyí)

Now we head further south in Mallorca, to the Mondragó Natural Park, famous for its beaches with fine white sand, abundant typical Mediterranean vegetation, and crystal-clear waters. Cala S’Amarador is surrounded by a large pine forest, ideal if you’re someone who seeks a bit of shade.

    4. Cala Varques (Manacor)

Cala Varques is nestled on the east coast, near Calas de Mallorca. The truth is that access isn’t very easy, and locals say it’s one of those beaches better reached by boat. But don’t worry, you can park your car and access it on foot. It boasts turquoise waters that will literally leave you speechless. It’s a tranquil cove where you won’t want to leave the water, and it’s also known for its diving and snorkeling areas; there’s a path leading to Es Caló Blanc where you’ll find a natural stone arch that you shouldn’t miss.

  • Caló des Màrmols (Santanyí)
  • The path to Caló des Màrmols begins at the Cap de Ses Salines lighthouse, which you can see in the photo. It’s an ideal path for walking, taking just over an hour, and at the end, you’ll find the reward: a paradisiacal beach where we recommend bringing some food and drink to spend a few hours. At least, that’s what you can read in some old bunkers on the coast that were intervened by the artists from the Madrid collective Boa Mistura. When you step on the sand of this beach, you can’t help but agree with the verse of Miquel Costa i Llobera. Platja d’es Trenc is a combination of dunes, pine forests, mountains, salt flats, and tamarind trees designed to intoxicate the senses. It’s part of the natural space of the Es Salobrar marsh, a protected area of 1,500 hectares, one of the most beautiful in Mallorca.

Playa de Formentor (Puerto de Pollensa)

Before we conclude this blog, we’ll give you a tip: one last beach to visit in the north of the island, just a few kilometers from Puerto de Pollensa, is Playa de Formentor, famous for the hotel that bears its name. It’s an area of exceptional natural beauty with pine forests that reach down to the fine sandy beach.

After a long day of unforgettable beaches, it’s time to head back to the hotel for one last swim and to enjoy the sunset from the terrace of the Vibra Beverly Playa hotel, as we mentioned at the beginning of the blog. Don’t miss out on this opportunity and make the most of its wonderful facilities!
