The arrival of September marks the flourishing of Ibiza for both visitors and residence. At this time of the year we can appreciate the great temperatures and the large variety of different pastimes and cultural events even more. Having a large array of options- most companies keep running throughout the year- Ibiza distances itself from the commotion of August, flees from the ´Made in Spain´ temperatures of 40 degrees and finally reaches the shade, furthermore, the clubs give it their all for the closing parties at the end of the season. Ibiza shows it´s true colours- or at least the most valued by locals: a sunny Ibiza, with the best gastronomical choice, cultural plans infused with traditional flavor, beaches of crystal clear waters (with finally enough space to spread your towels), and countless opportunities to enjoy the island through practicing sports. Today, we will share some options for you to make the most out of Ibiza in September- whether you´re travelling as a couple, with friends or family. And don´t forget- if you decide to discover one of the sweetest months on the white island, remember that we offer many discounts for accommodation. For instance, at Playasol Ibiza Hotels there´s an up to 30% discount on hotels and apartments. Have you packed your bags?

Exquisite flavours to discover

If there´s one thing that the locals appreciate, it´s to be able to enjoy dining at restaurants or meeting at bars without having to suffer through the wait of large queues, bat rather take in the warm and inviting environment in peace. If you´re planning a visit to Ibiza in September, we have a few places to recommend which will be sure to enrich your palate and senses. El Carmen Restaurant in Cala D´Hort is our first recommendation, there you will enjoy a traditional menu with a variation of rice recipes whilst losing yourself in the beautiful views of Es Vedra. Or why not visit Can Salvadó, in Pou des Lleò -where you can also enjoy a splendid siesta on their jetties. Another option is El Bigotes, in Cala Mastella, a spectacular place where you prepare the bullit de peix on firewood, or S ‘ illot des Rencli, in Portinatx, one of the most treasured restaurants by the locals that takes your breath away with its magnificent views of the North Sea. Of course, all of them offer an exquisite menu of rice dishes and Ibizan-style cuisine with incredible views and more than direct access to the beach.

Hiking for everyone

September is also the perfect month to get to know the island for it´s beautiful hiking routes. The lower (yet still warm) temperatures make sports an ideal pastime for any visitor- it´s the perfect way to discover the landscapes and hidden nooks and crannies of the island which can only be accessed by foot. We´ve provided you with a map created by Ibiza Travel which contains practical and detailed information about hiking routes, additionally categories or difficulty and time length are included with a complementary documentation of the surrounding geology and environment. Are you ready?

September also means culture

Ibiza is full of different cultural activities, local products as well as artisan markets and festivals or small concerts. If you decide to get to know the markets, you can´t miss the Sant Josep market which sells local products. This market is located in the heart of the village and opens every Saturday from 9am until 1pm. We also urge you to discover the artisan market of Sant Joan: goldsmithing, leather, wood carvings, as well as biological products and locally produced food. Alternatively, the musical events in September include Ibiza Piano Fest, which closes with its last performance in mid-September in Sant Carles de Peralta, and the Mostra Blues de Sant Josep that features artists such as Chino Swingslide, or the Mallorcan group The dangerous Gentlemen. Look out for local groups such as The Station Hollers, Bluesmafia and Saligardos who will also be performing.
