Spring is just around the corner and in Ibiza, the starting gun is fired by the blossoming of the almond trees from the start of January to mid-February. It’s undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated times of the year for the island’s residents because of its otherworldly beauty and unrivalled magic.
Although there are almond trees flourishing all over the island, the very best place to see them is the valley of Santa Agnès de Corona, an area covered by a blanket of pinky-white petals. Here you’ll encounter Ibiza’s renowned almond blossom route: a place of pilgrimage for hundreds of inquisitive minds and photography aficionados.
The town of Santa Agnés (or Santa Inés) is well known by the locals; it’s a village in the north of San Antonio with white Ibiza-style houses beside a church, sheltered by the rolling hills that bestow the area with exceptional beauty.
We recommend you end your experience on the route at “Las Puertas del Cielo” (The Gates of Heaven) where, as its name indicates, you can enjoy the most stunning views and the finest sunsets on the island. Access is from the Es Pla de Corona to Sa Penya Esbarrada road.
